Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals, GT Playing 11 vs RR (Predicted) , IPL 2022, Final, GT vs RR. Gujarat Titans will meet Rajasthan Royals on 29th May 2022 at 8 pm at Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad in the IPL 2022 final. 73 IPL 2022 competitive games are done and dusted before the mega final of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022. It has been a successful season where intense competition in most games has been the norm.

There aren’t any surprises for the finals either as the Top 2 sides would be fighting for the crowning jewel. The Gujarat Titans had booked a berth in this auspicious final by defeating the Rajasthan Royals in the 1st Qualifier. The Rajasthan Royals knocked the Royal Challengers Bangalore out of the tournament in the Eliminator to enter the final for the second time after the successful IPL 2008 – the inaugural edition.

The Gujarat Titans had won both the games played between the two teams this season which would add to the side’s confidence. Gujarat Titans have done well as a team and relied on collective performances rather than individual brilliance. Rajasthan Royals have had their best season since 2008 this year. Both sides are batting powerhouses, and this is expected to make this contest interesting.

Hardik Pandya’s side Gujarat Titans has scripted a dream story in its debut season. They topped the points table and registered a convincing 7-wicket win in the 1st Qualifier against the Rajasthan Royals. They will take on the same team in the final. Hardik Pandya would be aware of the pressure on his team. He can’t let the guard down having come this far with a young group of players. The Gujarat Titans’ skipper would like to end the tournament much like the way they have played in a majority of the games.

Openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill have done well as a pair and the onus would be on them to deliver a good start. The middle-order looks formidable with Hardik Pandya and Matthew Wade being among the runs in the last few games. The trio of David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, and Rashid Khan have been the side’s greatest strength as they have been winning games with electrifying knocks down the order. The side would like to see them be at their best in the most important game of the season.

Pacer Mohammad Shami has dropped slightly in form, but he will have to lead this attack and get Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler out early in the game. Yash Dayal has to offer good support with the new ball as Rajasthan has firepower at the top. Spinner Rashid Khan would be expected to work his magic being the best bowler for the side. Hardik Pandya, Alzarri Joseph, and Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore have important roles to play in the supporting act.

Shubman Gill who has played 10 Tests and 3 ODI matches for India, will be eager to leave his mark in IPL 2022, as a good outing in the IPL can open doors for the Indian team as well. He was a regular starter for Kolkata Knight Riders since IPL 2018 and his role with Gujarat Titans will be to provide a good start to the team.

Shubman Gill remains one of the most promising openers in the league. He has scored 438 runs in 15 IPL 2022 games averaging 31.29 at an impressive strike rate of 136.02.  He is the 3rd highest among Gujarat’s run-getters after Hardik Pandya and David Miller this season.
