On a day when big names like Faf du Plessis (0), Virat Kohli (25) and Glenn Maxwell (9) failed to contribute in the crucial game, Patidar took the responsibility to ensure RCB ended with a commendable score on the board.

Patidar targeted LSG spin bowlers Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi during his crackling knock. He slammed three fours and a six off Krunal as RCB’s score read 52/1 in the powerplay overs.

The real fun began when Patidar hit Bishnoi for 26 (three sixes and two fours) off just five balls in the 16th over.

Patidar forged an unseparated 92-run stand with Dinesh Karthik as RCB added 84 runs in the last five overs to power RCB to 207/4.

When I time the ball, my focus was on it. The last over of the powerplay when Krunal was bowling to me, my execution went fine then and I got confident afterwards,” Patidar was quoted as saying by RCB’s official website.

I never feel any pressure as I think I have the ability to make up for the dots,” he added.

RCB eventually triumphed against LSG by 14 runs with some brilliant bowling by Harshal Patel (1/25) and Josh Hazlewood (3/43) in the slog overs.

Reports have emerged that Patidar postponed his wedding plans to join the RCB camp in the middle of the season as a replacement for Luvnith Sisodia.

Manohar Patidar, father of Rajat, said his son’s marriage was fixed within this month.

But the moment Patidar received the call from RCB, the Madhya Pradesh player immediately left for Mumbai while postponing his wedding plans.
